Training in Senegal – growing interest in CLI’s Stakeholder Dialogue approach in West Africa
11-28-2011 - The Collective Leadership Institute conducted the course "Working with Stakeholder Dialogues" for the third time in Senegal.
Among the participants were representatives from several West and Central African countries such as Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Equatorial Guinea and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The CLI is very pleased with the growing demand for education programs on Stakeholder Dialogues and the positive feedback on the dialogic approach of the trainings.
Participants brought in their own practical examples that were intensively analyzed and discussed in the group. Amongst others these projects were represented: Promoting the competitiveness and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and capacity development in the microfinance sector, Transborder water management in the Congo Basin and a Drinking Water and Sanitation Program in Burkina Faso.
The lively exchange of experiences and views between all participants coming from various sectors led to interesting insights. They discussed especially the cooperation between rural areas and capital cities, where the change processes are often initiated as part of political processes.
Most of the participants really liked the interactive style of the training as well as the reflective parts on change processes and differences between individual and organizational views on such change processes.
Due to increasing demand we will offer in 2012 several trainings on Stakeholder Dialogues in French. Please visit our course overview for details!
